Classified School Employee of the Year
Classified School Employee of the Year is a yearly award that recognizes a classified employee from the PSESD region that will then go on to represent PSESD in the state Classified School Employee of the Year selection process, which then becomes the Washington nominee for the US Department of Education's national Recognizing Inspiring School Employees (RISE) award. The Classified School Employee of the Year meets the following criteria:
- The educator's work is recognized as exceptional, and they have the respect and admiration of their community.
- The educator is committed to professional growth and building deeper connections between schools and communities.
- The educator collaborates with colleagues, students, and families to create a school culture of respect, success, and care for others.
- The educator is a leader who makes connections between their daily work and student success.
The nomination window is open for one month, typically from February 1 to March 1. Nominees then have the opportunity to complete the application from March 1 to April 1. Nomination forms can be found on OSPI’s Classified School Employee of the Year webpage.
