Special Services 2025-2026 Network Meetings 

Creating strong communities of professionals who support and assist one another to improve services for students with disabilities is a critical service provided by our program.  

For the 2024-2025 School Year we will be holding a combination of in-person and virtual meetings. Materials and resources will continue to be housed on our Canvas Platform ( Clock hours are available).

Inclusive Technology Lending Library

PSESD is committed to supporting student's access to their educational environments and instruction. Inclusive technology is defined as any item or equipment that is used to increase, maintain, or improve the functional capabilities of a child with a disability and increase their access to their general education environment.  The Special Services IT Lending Library makes inclusive technology equipment and tools available for checkout to school district and educational agency personnel in our region for a trial period.

Ranging from simple time-keepers to iPads complete with AAC technology, these devices may be borrowed and used directly with students to support them in classroom and other educational settings.

How it Works

- Please complete the request form of items desired. Orders will be filled based on item availability. Please allow for two business days to receive a response. 

- Available inventory list can be viewed here. 

- Special Education Directors and Staff requesting items will need to sign and submit agreement documents. These will be provided once the request form has been received. 

- Items will be made available for pick up from PSESD, or delivery based on need.

Professional Transition to the Public Schools: 

ESA Initial Certification Course 

The Initial Educator Staff Associate (ESA) Certification Course is intended for those in the following professions who want to take their practice into the public-school setting, nursing, social work, audiology, speech language pathology, occupational therapy, physical therapy, orientation & mobility, and behavior analysis. This is NOT the correct ESA track to becoming a School Counselor or School Psychologist.  

Puget Sound ESD provides three online courses per calendar year. Each 15-hour course is approved by the Professional Educator Standards Board (PESB), required by WAC 181-79A-224 and meets the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction's (OSPI) requirements to become ESA certified in WA State.

Please check OSPI’s E-certification site for more information on the ESA application process and additional ESA certification requirements. All certification questions should be addressed to OSPI, as we ONLY provide the course necessary to meet the requirements. Once you have completed the course you must submit a copy of your Certificate of Completion to OSPI to process your certificate.

Moving All to Success & Health (MASH)

MASH (Moving All Students to Health) provides wrap-around support services for school district staff, students, and families to meet the needs of students with complex behavioral and social emotional needs.

Each MASH team provides the expertise of team of a Behavior Specialist (BCBA), Behavior Interventionist (RBT), Social Worker, and Special Education Case Manager who work in collaboration with school and district teams. MASH focuses on the success of each student from a whole child lens to address needs at school, home and in the community.  Services are personalized to the needs of each student, the family, and the school. MASH Services could include parent training, one-on-one student support, behavior plans and assessments, PFA/SBT coaching and implementation, staff behavioral training, IEP support, progress monitoring, and on-campus observations and coaching– all based in IEP Team determined need and driven by multiple sources of data.
